Peter Bergeron, PhD

Lecturer

Peter Bergeron is a Lecturer of Philosophy at ºÚÁÏÍø. He received his Ph.D. from ºÚÁÏÍø in 2010, defending a dissertation under the supervision of Paul Moser. Before joining the faculty at ºÚÁÏÍø in 2010, Peter worked for a residential construction company in Evanston. Prior to moving to Evanston he earned a B.S. in wildlife biology from the University of Montana and was an outdoor educator in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California for six years.

Peter is interested in the practices essential to flourishing human relationships and the ways in which those practices are impacted by our contemporary technological culture. He was a student of Albert Borgmann's, a philosopher of technology at the University of Montana, and continues to explore how work in this field can help us to craft richer and more meaningful personal relationships. One of the classes he designed and enjoys teaching every semester is Friendship, Romance and Technology (Phil 288).
